2 Days' of Marathon for Godson's 1st Month

28 Jun 08

I was very excited as it's Pig's godson's 1st month. I suggested baking some goodies to add to the buffet lunch that the parents had already ordered. I wanted to try something new, and break away from the usual choc cakes.

I was searching my favourite blogs when I chanced upon Blueberry Yoghurt Muffin recipe on Do What I like's site. The muffins look tempting enough and I hoped for the best.

By dusting the blueberries with flour, the fruits will not sink to the bottom once baked.

The batter was kinda runny, and I don't quite like the look of it. It's a sign!

After much baking in the oven, the muffins still looked as pale as ever... =_(

The texture is like cake, than muffin. I wonder what went wrong.

I decided to bake brownie instead, a recipe more familiar; tested and tried. I'd followed the recipe from my Australia's Women's Weekly Biscuits and Slices.

Choc chips were added to make it double choc brownie!

Since I've sunk my hands into baking, I decided to have a go at butter cake. The ingredients are simple enough, and I thought to myself why not??

I baked this in a loaf pan instead of round pan.

I like the look though I knew that it shouldn't be this way.

I cut the brownies into triangle shapes and a single-bite size for the guests.

The cake's more like bread texture. Sigh... everything was so not right.

I wasn't satisfied with the bakes yesterday, so I looked everywhere in the vicinity for bananas for my banana muffins.

For error-free recipe, I used recipe from Mad Baker.

I didn't stir too much this time round.

Now that really look like a muffin, only smaller.

I stacked the goodies up in a cake box and rushed to get ready for the 1st month's celebration.
